Dennen nips Abe, Quist Cruises

Pat Dennen said he was going to run slowly today.   So, when Mike Abraham disappeared over the horizon, and Pat was still in fourth place, running with his father about a minute behind, it looked like Mike's race to win.   With about a mile and a quarter to go, though, Pat broke loose and took off after Mike.  Tony Benivegna described it as "He blew past me like I was standing still."

Pat said that next week, he's going to run hard.

What could have been a titanic women's race among Steady Pam Quist, Rapid Lynn Zuback, and regular rivals Kimberly Thompson and Nora Hulton kind of fizzled as Nora suffered a cold and Kimberly had a sub-par race.  Pam passed Kimberly early and built a substantial lead.  Lynn moved up past Kimberly, but couldn't bridge the gap that Pam had built, so finished 22 seconds behind.  Nora faded to fifth among the women, behind Sue Daniel.

Nine Roxbury runners ran Boston on Monday.   Eight finished.  You can see how they did at the Roxbury at Boston site.

That's John Murphy Jr in this week's picture.   He's smiling about how much money Peg Molina raised for the Mark Gillen Fund.   Way to go, Peg!

We had some trouble with the results this week.   I think we got most of them straightened out.  Thanks Bob, Paul, Nora and Walt, for your help.  If anybody sees more errors, please eMail esandifer@earthlink.net right away if you find mistakes, so we can get them corrected.
