RUNNERS BEAT THE HEAT IN SUMMER SERIES WEEK #3
At 6:30 pm on Thursday night, the temperature was 92 degrees, the sun was hot, and the deer flies buzzing. Disregarding all these obstacles, hardy runners lined up, 14 for the 2k, 16 for the 3k, 8 for the 4k and an incredible 39 for the 5k run!
Sean Labbe, 12, of Riverton took no notice of the conditions, posting a course record 8:29 over the 2k course. Brittany Heninger, 22, Bristol, continued her advance up the top ten lists, this time in the 5k, where her time of 18:35 was the third best ever. Katie Bobinski, 17, Torrington, took back her 2k course record with a swift 10:14.
